FIRST ROUND OF PRESENTATIONS
NP Play is a project that I saw a couple of former students at New Palestine High School did a couple years ago. This project consists of going to elementary schools, the intermediate, and the junior high school in our district to talk to the kids there. Our goal is to talk about how high school athletics, good nutrition, and how my groups and I athletic experience changed who we are for the better. My group, Jesi, Eli, Addi, Ethan, and I have made great progress with this project and loved every minute of it. At the beginning of trying to start this project off it was hard with Covid regulations, how to grasp the kids attention with trying to inspire them, and what would be the most crucial class to give information to. With going through everything and emailing all the teachers and staff that we thought would be excited for us to come in the project finally set sail.

My group and I's first email was to the Junior Highs principle talking about our goal and if they would allow us to come in. He told us he loved the idea so emailed their gym teacher that use to have all of us in class, Mrs. Bloomer. She loved the idea so her gym class was the first class we spoke to. We couldn't have asked for a better group of kids because 90% of the students in that class were athletes. Jesi and I talked about how volleyball has changed us, Addi Jones talked about basketball and soccer. Ethan talked about football and track, finally Eli talked about basketball. After we introduced our selves we all shared insight on what healthy and unhealthy sugars are, positive effects sports have on high school and college students. Finally we talked how our high school and all of the opportunities that are available to them to participate in. To keep the kids more engaged we did a kahoot trivia game that really grabbed their attention. We made this kahoot game about what we talked about to make sure the kids paid attention and really tried to keep them engaged. To make this game more fun we told the kids at the beginning that whoever got top three would win prizes. After we got done with the game we handed out our prizes and the kids had a lot of fun learning and playing with us.

SECOND ROUND OF PRESENTATIONS
After Mrs. Bloomer's class we emailed a bunch of other teachers about our work and it really got a lot of popularity through out of our elementary's. Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Cannon, Mrs. Branch, and Mr. Spicer were our classes the we presented to in the month of May. We did the same presentation to Mr. Spicer's class that we did with Mrs. Bloomers class but they quickly realized we wanted to change it up. After the presentation my group and I made a new presentation for the 3rd-4th graders to make it more interactive and fun for them to learn. My group and I still kept the same idea behind it which was high school athletics, importance of good nutrition and staying active. We presented with the new presentation to Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Cannon and Mrs. Branch class and the kids loved it and we loved our feedback. During these classes we had them play a game afterwards and whoever won the game got to take a picture with us! Then at the end of the presentation some of the kids got to ask questions about anything they want and they seemed to really enjoy us being there.
